Way… way back in 2012 we first came across Genix because of his mix of Above & Beyond‘s “Home“, which still is one of our favorite remixes of all time. Since that time, Genix also known as Damion Houchen, has been hard at work with a brand spankin new EP. “First Mind” happens to be our favorite off the EP, which is very reminiscent of some classic Anjuna (we think). The track features a solid club groove, quality chord progressions and breakdown that unfolds so smoothly. On the B-side, “XO” pounds with heavy percussion, blasting chords and a melody that circles back for more and more each time. Both of these tracks are great, we’re excited to see how far Genix has come since 2012. Well done Damion.
