Mat Zo, who has become somewhat of a legend at this point in the music industry now has his own music label! The new label appropriately titled: Mad Zoo, has been in years of planning and his first release it out! Mat noted: “I’ve always wanted a quicker outlet for my music, so awhile ago I decided to release some of my music for free on Soundcloud,” states Mat . “The only problem with this is if I want to license the track out, or even put the track on YouTube, there has to be a label structure around it. The plans for Mad Zoo had been underway for years, so I decided to use the venture as a new way for me to release music quickly, yet still have infrastructure around it. I will still continue to work with other labels in the conventional way.” The first release from Zo’s new label is his own EP entitled “The Up Down Left Right EP”. The first track is a collaboration with The Knocks for a funky disco ectro track called “Get Down 2 Get Up” – which we posted on back in June. On the B-side, is “Left to Right” a twist on tech house with plenty of bass and somewhat reminiscent of Boys Noize, in our opinion. That said, if someone you’re chatting with tries to pin Mat’s style of sound – just end the conversation, he doesn’t have one and that’s why we love him so much.
