Over a year after it’s introduction to world, Above & Beyond have released the official music video to the trio’s hit single “Alchemy” featuring Zoë Johnston. Debuting on Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy EP, the single is widely known in the trance scene for Zoë’s voice and its catchy lyrics, all powered by Anjuna’s best: Above & Beyond.
The rather somber but emotionally charged video was directed by Jonas Mayabb based out of Los Angeles. Initially an actor, Jonas worked on feature films such as The Hulk and covets many awards such two Clio awards, two Young Directors Awards at Cannes and six Addy’s. “Alchemy” also features some familiar faces as well; Steven Berkoff (the cheat), can also be found in Above & Beyond’s “On My Way to Heaven” video. Hollywood actress Mackenzie Firgens, known for roles in motion picture such “The Thompsons” and the hit musical “Rent” plays the one who unfortunately learns “it’s all gone”.
Overall, it’s a phenomenal video. The video pulls out raw emotions just as how the song was originally written to do; all in a way – part of Group Therapy.
