New York City is well known for its entertainment scene, but last Saturday was quite a treat. Hungarian DJs Márió Égető (Mÿon) and Előd Császár (Shane 54), passed through to drop a little of their latest on the city that never sleeps. Despite the fact that Webster is one of craziest, most chaotic venues (second to Pacha), the venue does pull a lot of great acts. Mixed amongst the crowd were scantily clad women on stilts, dancers playing with fire and two acrobats that methodically fell from the ceiling clenching on to each other only by their feet. It was quite a culmination of acts which was pretty cool, but all of which were somewhat distracting from the true show: Myon & Shane 54.
The guys played an incredible set and I was thoroughly impressed with their abilities and the loads of energy from their presence on stage. Song selection touched on big-house sound, of course Anjuna, but then Axwell’s “In My Mind” came on. A few of Webster’s locals had a great time for a few minutes, but then it was back to the normal programming. TranceKid’s social media was out in full force too, and the Kid’s twitter account hit up Myon & Shane. Song Request: “On A Metropolis Day”. Sure enough, the kids got their request and went home happy as if Santa had brought exactly what they wanted. Thanks Myon & Shane… looking forward to checking out that video footage 🙂
