Norin & Rad Surf Through New York with Soundprank – Oct. 19, 2012

When the news hit my email inbox that Norin & Rad along with Soundprank were passing though New York City, my calendar was instantly cleared for that evening. The show was going down at a new venue called Club 39. The atmosphere was glowing with the anticipation of two of Anjuna’s fastest up and coming stars ready to take the deck.

The crowd glowed luminescent when Norin & Rad charged the stage. During the set, the double featured a number of their own tracks including “Pistol Whip” and a mix I had never heard before “Secret Bloom” versed with Oceanlab. With much excitement Norin & Rad (Bruce Karlsson and Nick Sember) greeted those on stage posing for photos ecstatic they had met the two infamous Silver Surfers.

When Norin & Rad finished up, we casually made our way backstage to say hello to the duo out of California. After a brief meet and greet, we then watched Soundprank sweep the stage of Club 39. Smooth control over the knobs, Colin Fisher (Soundprank) dropped one of my favorite songs out right now “The Great Divide” by The Velvetine, with of course his own spin on it. If you have yet to check out Soundprank, his relationship and sound with the Anjunabeats guys is only getting better and better. Oh and shout-out to Soundprank’s wife Rachel, who mentioned she answers every single one of their emails… that’s pretty cool.
